Memorial for Lola

Hikaru Lola

15 Feb 2011 – 5 Oct 2021

Lola was a real dog and a real part of my life. For almost a decade, she was a dear friend and my sole companion in this world. I loved her dearly.

I first met her in October of 2011, as an 8-month-old puppy. She was originally adopted by a family member I was renting a room from, but she quickly chose me as her human instead. Together, we lived through many harrowing and difficult experiences.

I put a lot of effort into making certain that she led a happy, healthy life and that she was loved and properly cared for. While she seemed to be in good health for a 10-year-old dog, on the morning of October 5th, 2021 she began suffering alarming lethargy and deteriorated within the span of an hour and a half. She died from heart failure at 11:45 am, in the company of those who loved her. She did not suffer, but simply closed her eyes one last time before she left us.

Her ashes now rest in a memorial alongside her favorite blanket and toy.

I was heartbroken to lose her and not a day has passed since that I do not miss her. She was a beautiful soul, and I hope that the memory of her will live on long after her departure.
